Video has resurfaced of Matt Lauer appearing on The Meredith Vieira Show,” in May 2016, where the former “Today,” host is accused of having a “huge bag of sex toys,” in his office closet.
An embarrassed Lauer says the toys were given to him as a gift from a sex therapist the day before, revealing Secret Service agents found the bag after sweeping his office before Laura Bush’s appearance on the network.
Fox News reports:
Lauer appeared on “The Meredith Vieira Show” with his then-co-host Savannah Guthrie in May 2016, and Vieira recalled the time she went “snooping” in his office and discovered the bag of sex toys.
“You had a huge bag of sex toys, yes you did, in your closet, Matt,” Vieira told her studio audience. […]
Lauer attempted to explain the explicit toys.
“Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute,” Lauer responded. “We had a guest on the show who was a sex therapist. I think you (Vieira) did the segment, actually.” […]
Lauer said he did not know what to do with the sex toys and left them in his closet. The former “Today” show host said Secret Service agents went into his office the next day before he did an interview with Laura Bush where they found the X-rated toys. Lauer recalled being embarrassed.
Throughout the segment, Vieira is skeptical of Lauer’s claims, telling the now disgraced host that she never receive a bag of sex toys.
Matt Lauer was fired by NBC Wednesday over reports the “Today,” host had allegedly made unwanted sexual advances towards multiple women.

As the co-host of NBC’s “Today,” Matt Lauer once gave a colleague a sex toy as a present. It included an explicit note about how he wanted to use it on her, which left her mortified.
On another day, he summoned a different female employee to his office, and then dropped his pants, showing her his penis. After the employee declined to do anything, visibly shaken, he reprimanded her for not engaging in a sexual act.
He would sometimes quiz female producers about who they’d slept with, offering to trade names. And he loved to engage in a crass quiz game with men and women in the office: “f—, marry, or kill,” in which he would identify the female co-hosts that he’d most like to sleep with.
