Trump Cancels UK Visit in January After Prime Minister May’s Virtue Signaling on His Islamic Terrorism Tweets

- Desember 01, 2017

President Trump set off a firestorm for retweeting three videos showing violent attacks and actions by Muslims, posted by Britain First’s Jayda Fransen.

In case you missed them, here they are.

Theresa May’s spokesman issued the following statement in response to the retweets: “Britain First seeks to divide communities by their use of hateful narratives that peddle lies and stoke tensions. They cause anxiety to law-abiding people. British people overwhelmingly reject the prejudiced rhetoric of the far right which is the antithesis of the values this country represents, decency, tolerance and respect.”

UK Prime Minister May continued to criticize President Trump for retweeting the Islamic terrorism tweets in public comments.

On Friday the Trump administration announced the president would skip a planned stop in London in January.

The president was planning to open the new U.S. embassy in London.

Breitbart.com reported:

A planned “working visit” to the United Kingdom by U.S. President Donald Trump has been cancelled following Prime Minister Theresa May’s decision to publicly upbraid him over Twitter retweets.

The prime minister said the president was “wrong” to share videos purporting to show Muslims committing acts of violence while on a visit to the Middle East, where she is attempting to curry favour with local dictators.

President Trump did not hesitate to rebuke the British politician, telling her: “Don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!”

News that the president has cancelled a planned “working visit” to open the new U.S. embassy in London came in the early hours of the following morning.
