A shooting at a Texas high school took place Monday morning resulting in one student receiving bullet wounds.
According to Fox News, the shooting took place just before 8 a.m. in Italy High school, 45 miles south of Dallas in Ellis county.
The school quickly evacuated the student body according to Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities told Fox News the shooter was a 16-year-old male who was taken into custody shortly after he shot a 15-year-old female student.
According to Fox News, the female student has been airlifted to a nearby hospital, but her condition remains unknown.
Authorities have yet to brief the press as to the circumstances that led to the shooting, however the Ellis Country Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that they will be holding a news conference at 1 p.m. cst.
Next press conference is at 1. It will be held at Central Baptist Family Life Church 117 S. Ward Street in Italy.
