South Korea Welcomes the Nod to Peace From Kim Jong Un

- Januari 01, 2018

While warning that he keeps a “nuclear button” on his desk, at all times, and that their missiles could hit anywhere on the U.S. mainland, the little tyrant of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, also managed to convey some positive words for their neighbors in South Korea.

And I have to imagine that when the mood is as precarious as it is between the two, any sliver of positivity is welcome.

In a televised message, Jong Un reached out to South Korea, suggesting North Korea would send a delegation to the upcoming Winter Olympics in PyeongChang. He also signaled an openness to talks.

“The successful launch of the games will contribute to stability not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in East Asia and the rest of the world,” a South Korean government spokesman said.

It would be nice to see a calming of the political strife in that area, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Jong Un also noted that he has no intensions of backing off of their nuclear ambitions.

North Korea was dealt new sanctions in November, after another ballistic missile test.

Since then, the U.S. and South Korean have conducted joint military drills, despite warnings from North Korea to stop doing so.

Yeah, it really is best to be prepared, even with this new sense of civil outreach from Jong Un.

Because crazy is gonna crazy.
