Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm behind the discredited Steele dossier, is still investigating alleged ties between President Trump and Russia, reports Fox News contributor Sara A. Carter.

The controversial research firm Fusion GPS is still investigating alleged ties between President Trump’s 2016 election campaign and Russia, according to several sources who spoke to this reporter.
What’s not known is who is paying for the continuing research? Fusion GPS officials could not be reached immediately for comment.
In October, the Washington Post revealed that Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign paid the now embattled research firm Fusion GPS to fund the research into the dossier. Marc E. Elias, who was a lawyer representing the Clinton campaign and the DNC allegedly retained Fusion GPS, but the campaign failed to disclose those payments on its finance records.
On Saturday, New York Post‘s Paul Sperry suggested he may know who Fusion GPS’s new client is — None other than special counsel Robert Mueller.
“Fusion GPS co-founder Simpson is STILL actively investigating Trump for Russian ties but REFUSES to name his new client (Special Counsel MUELLER’s office?) and Democrats are trying to block Republicans from confirming the identify of his new client (b/c it’s MUELLER?),” tweeted Sperry.
On Thursday, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released the transcript from its interview with Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson from last November.
