One person is dead and three others are injured after an explosion Tuesday at an office building in Aliso Viejo, California.
The FBI is investigating the explosion, however; they have not released any information on whether this was an act of terror.
KTLA 5 reported:
An explosion at a medical office building in Aliso Viejo on Tuesday left one dead and three civilians injured and prompted the evacuation of nearby buildings, including a preschool, officials said.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. in the first floor of a two-story office building, Capt. Tony Bommarito with the Orange County Fire Authority said. The building is located at 11 Mareblu, OCFA tweeted.
Bommarito called the damages “severe,” with walls and windows blown out and debris landing onto the street and in the parking lot next door.
Authorities could not provide the status of the three individuals taken to the hospital but said they were being interviewed about the incident.
San Diego 7 reported the detonation was “intentional” however authorities did not elaborate with too many details.
The explosion at an Aliso Viejo medical building was an “intentional detonation,” and the explosive device was delivered to the building, addressed to a specific person, federal sources tell the NBC4 I-Team.
Witnesses described the scene as pure chaos. People were fleeing the building with burnt hair, burnt skin and screaming for help.
People are seen running across the street just moments after the explosion.
