For someone who claims to have “the best people” working with him at all times, President Trump sure does get angry at his people.
Trump continues to lash out at Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Twitter in a pathetic attempt to get Sessions to quit. Why? Because Trump is too much of coward to fire him. Ironically, many of the Trump supporters who bellow that Trump should fire Rod Rosenstein and Robert Mueller remain silent on Trump’s dressing down of his top official at the Justice Department.
Trump’s latest salvo hilariously blames Sessions for the Russia investigation.
The Russian Witch Hunt Hoax continues, all because Jeff Sessions didn’t tell me he was going to recuse himself…I would have quickly picked someone else. So much time and money wasted, so many lives ruined…and Sessions knew better than most that there was No Collusion!

“All because Jeff Sessions didn’t tell me he was going to recuse himself.”
Such a statement defies reality, but then again, consider the source. Trump announced Sessions as his choice for Attorney General in November of 2016. There is no way that Sessions, at that time, would know he’d choose to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.
Consider this as well: Sessions went to ethics officials in the Justice Department and after conferring with them, made the decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation. Only someone as self-centered as Trump would find that to be a personal “betrayal.” But that’s how Trump sees the world. He’s the center of the universe and if people don’t show not only loyalty but devotion to him, they are of no value.
That’s what we’re seeing with Jeff Sessions.
The other part of this absurdity is the suggestion the investigation wouldn’t exist if not for Sessions’ recusal. In this case, Trump hasn’t forgotten. He’s being purposely obtuse because he knows his most slavish fans will swallow whatever he feeds them. The only reason Robert Mueller exists as special counsel is because Trump fired James Comey!
The time may come when Robert Mueller issues his final report, and Trump will get to celebrate Mueller found no evidence of collusion on the part of Trump and his surrogates. Until that report is issued, however, there will be no shortage of goofy conspiracy theories accusing Mueller of engaging (or planning it) in all sorts of unethical behavior when zero evidence of such behavior exists.
Even if Sessions ultimately quits or Trump figures out a way to fire him without having to be in the same room with Sessions when it happens (remember, Trump fired Comey while the former FBI director was in California), who would want to take that role? Trump would have limited choices, such as Rudy Giuliani or perhaps Chris Christie. But people who would make a fine Attorney General wouldn’t want anything to do with this administration.
It’s stunning. Only Donald Trump could turn someone like Jeff Sessions into a sympathetic figure. That’s quite the accomplishment.
