The Plain! The Plain! Peter Dinklage Deemed Too White to Play Tattoo, as SJW’s Make Further Imbeciles of Themselves

- Agustus 31, 2018

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but white people are awful. They’re just the worst.

We have a relatively new term for all the people who aren’t the worst: people of color.

Therefore, there are people who are of color, and there are people who are the worst.

Those are the two races in America today.

Unfortunately for actor Peter Dinklage, he belongs to the wrong one. The Game of Thrones star put a lot of effort into getting made a film about Fantasy Island’s Hervé Villechaize, who played Tattoo on the beloved late 70’s/early 80’s show.

The facts that Dinklage is great at his job and that he — like the late Villechaize — was born with dwarfism comprise a perfect scenario for Dinklage portraying the TV icon.

However, social justice warriors — most of whom have very possibly never even seen Fantasy Island and are doubtfully familiar with Villechaize — got wind, by way of the laser-accurate Wikipedia, that Villechaize was a person of color, whereas Dinklage is of that other, evil race!

Since Hervé was reportedly half Filipino, the social justice crowd got wholly up in arms:

Note the above: Hervé’s “real identity” is fully rooted in his genetic ancestry. Not his character; not his personality; not his accomplishments. Merely the exact opposite of what Martin Luther King and others dreamed of.

Yeah…I guess they just need a very successful, more-befitting person for the role. Can you think of any fantastic actors who are also stars who are also half Filipino who also have dwarfism?

The problem with the outrage over a man with dwarfism who was half Filipino being played by an actor with dwarfism who doesn’t possess that half, other than being breathtakingly imbecilic, is that it wasn’t true: despite the proclamations of error-filled Wikipedia, Villechaize was, in fact German, French, and English — the evil race!

HE’S JUST SOME WHITE DUDE????

Then suddenly, no one cared.

The end.

But for what it’s worth, Dinklage explained the situation to Entertainment Weekly:

The internet is the best thing and the worst thing. The funny thing about the backlash is it addresses what we address in the film about not judging a book by its cover. Hervé was judged by how he looked, and cast and perceived to be who he is accordingly.

There’s this term “whitewashing.” I completely understand that. But Hervé wasn’t Filipino. Dwarfism manifests physically in many different ways. I have a very different type of dwarfism than Hervé had. I’ve met his brother and other members of his family. He was French, and of German and English descent. So it’s strange these people are saying he’s Filipino. They kind of don’t have any information. I don’t want to step on anybody’s toes or sense of justice because I feel the exact same way when there’s some weird racial profile. But these people think they’re doing the right thing politically and morally and it’s actually getting flipped because what they’re doing is judging and assuming what he is ethnically based on his looks alone. He has a very unique face and people have to be very careful about this stuff. This [movie] isn’t Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Personally, I would never do that, and I haven’t done that, because he wasn’t. People are jumping to conclusions based on a man’s appearance alone and that saddens me.

It’s incredible is that social justice and identity politics — aka racism — have jumped from the old prejudice based on appearance and leapt underneath the skin, into one’s DNA. Racial bigotry has become high tech. Eugenics. If Hervé looks like a “person of color,” yet a scraping of his bones reveal the other (evil) race, then nobody gives a hoot.

Another fail for the Left.

Thank you! What do you think of all this — of the movie, which spotlights the last three days of Villechaize’s life; of the social justice uproar; of the mistake? And also, of Fantasy Island? I look forward to reading all your opinions.
