JUST IN: President Trump Finishes Written Responses to Mueller’s Questions

- November 17, 2018

President Trump told the White House press pool on Friday that his legal team finished written responses for Robert Mueller’s questions, but that they have yet to submit them to the Special Counsel.

The President’s written responses to Mueller will reportedly be about alleged ‘Russian collusion,’ not ‘obstruction of justice.’

Mueller is also seeking to question President Trump on so-called ‘obstruction of justice’ however, Mueller and his investigators understood that issues of executive privilege could complicate their pursuit of a presidential interview and did not ask for written responses on that matter, The New York Times previously said.

Via White House Correspondent for the Daily Caller: NEW: @POTUS just told the pool he has just finished his written responses to Mueller’s questions but they have not been submitted. “You always have to be careful answering questions for people who have bad intentions.”

Last month, CNN reported President Trump’s lawyers were preparing written answers to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s questions.

President Trump’s lawyers have sparred with Mueller’s team for several months over how the President will answer questions, or if he will sit down for an interview with Mueller.

The President has said in many different interviews he would be open to sitting down for an interview with Mueller, however, his legal team has strongly advised against it.

Any sit-down interview with Robert Mueller would be a perjury trap–Trump should avoid it at all costs.

An attorney for Trump, Jay Sekulow previously said he’s prepared to take Mueller all the way up to the Supreme Court if he were to issue a presidential subpoena, which would be an advantage for the President now that he has cemented a conservative majority with the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh.
