earlier this month the Iranian regime hanged a 31-year-old man accused of homosexuality according to state-run news service Iranian Student’s News Agency.

The Jerusalem Post reported:

The Islamic Republic of Iran publicly hanged a 31-year-old Iranian man after he was found guilty of charges related to violations of Iran’s anti-gay laws, according to the state-controlled Iranian Students’ News Agency.

The unidentified man was hanged on January 10 in the southwestern city of Kazeroon based on criminal violations of “lavat-e be onf” – sexual intercourse between two men, as well as kidnapping charges, according to ISNA. Iran’s radical sharia law system prescribes the death penalty for gay sex.

The ISNA reported that the 31-year-old kidnapped two 15-year-olds. The opaque inner workings of Iran’s judicial system create enormous difficulties for journalists and human rights advocates to examine judicial cases.

“The LGBT community in Iran has lived in terror for the last 40 years,” said Alireza Nader, CEO of Washington, DC-based research and advocacy organization New Iran. “Next time Foreign Minister Zarif speaks in Washington, the host and audience should ask him why his regime is one of the top executioner of gays in the world.”

Pamela Geller reported on the mainstream media’s double-standard on LGBT issues.

I spoke at an LGBT event at the RNC decrying the treatment of gays under Islam, and the mainstream media attacked the event with a vengeance. This is leftist leadership. They condemn me (and my colleagues) who oppose the most brutal and extreme ideology on the face of the earth, while stumping for their executioners. They were loud and proud against our ads (below) hihgliting the brutal oppression and subjugation of gays under sharia. They were holding press conferences condemning me. Gay organizations in America say nothing about this, but loudly condemned my ad campaign highlighting Muslim oppression of gays under the sharia. That includes the San Francisco Board of Examiners, the Human Rights CommissionSFHRC head transgender Theresa Sparks, but most especially the enemedia. They called our ads hate and issued a resolution condemning our AFDI ad campaign (the first of its kind) against our organization for merely quoting Muslim political leaders, spiritual leaders and cultural voices in the Muslim community who call for the torture and death of gay people.
