Failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D) spoke at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network convention today in New York City, and she gave a barn burner of a speech in which she declared – again – that she was not conceding the governor’s race.
It was “stolen”, she asserted:
I am a good lawyer, and I understand that the law of the land said that Brian Kemp became the governor that day. And I acknowledge that, but you can’t trick me into saying it was right. And you can’t shame me into saying what happened should’ve happened because in the state of Georgia black people faced hours long lines of up to four hours waiting to cast their ballots. 53,000 people were held hostage by a system that a federal judge said was racially discriminatory. 53,000 people. 90% of whom were people of color and 70% of whom were black. I live in a state where 1.5 million people got purged including 600,000 right before my opponent threw his name into the ring.
They closed 214 polling places. They rejected absentee ballots at an unheard of rate. They said if your signature didn’t match then your vote doesn’t count. Well my signature doesn’t match from Kroger to CVS, but my citizenship doesn’t change. And so in response to what I believe was a stolen election, and I’m not saying they stole it from me. They stole it from the voters of Georgia. I cannot prove empirically that I would’ve won, but we will never know.

“I refused to concede because, here's the thing: concession needs to say something is right and true and proper. … You can’t trick me into saying it was right.”

Hmm. I’m so old I remember when Democrats said that refusing to accept the results of an election was a “direct threat to democracy.”
Donald Trump refused to say that he’d respect the results of this election.

Of course, Hillary Clinton and other Democrats (including Sen. Cory Booker) conveniently changed their tunes on respecting election results as soon as one of their own lost a high-profile race fair and square.

Isn’t it fascinating how often their standards change depending on the situation? It’s like clockwork.
Not long after the Georgia election, when the “stolen” word was being thrown around like cheeseburgers at the Clinton White House, Rich Lowry fact checked some of the left’s claims about the election:
They say Kemp’s confessed his true, untoward feelings about voting when he expressed “concern” about Abrams pushing absentee voting.
But the full quote from Kemp speaking at a GOP event is: “They have just an unprecedented number of [absentee ballot requests], which is something that continues to concern us, especially if everybody uses and exercises their right to vote — which they absolutely can — and mail those ballots in, we gotta have heavy turnout to offset that.”

They allege that Kemp shut down polling places. It’s true, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, that 214 precincts have closed in Georgia since 2012. It’s just not the handiwork of Brian Kemp.
Counties make the decisions about whether or not to shutter polling places. It’s usually cash-strapped rural areas that consolidate precincts to eliminate underutilized polling places and locations that don’t comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
When a controversy exploded over a proposal to close seven of nine precincts in tiny majority-black Randolph County, Kemp came out publicly and opposed the plan. (As it happens, Randolph voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016, but Trump won five of the seven precincts slated for closure.)
Make sure to read the whole thing. He pretty much debunked just about every Democrat talking point on the election being “stolen.”
Doesn’t matter to the left, though. They’ve got pots to stir. Donors to motivate. A base to rile up. You see, it’s ok to undermine confience in the election process – just as long as you’re a Democrat.
