The New York Times changed the front page headline for Tuesday’s edition from “TRUMP URGES UNITY VS. RACISM” to “ASSAILING HATE BUT NOT GUNS” following attacks by several Democratic Party presidential candidates seeking to dethrone Trump that the original headline about the President’s speech Monday about the weekend mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton was too fair to Trump.
Democrat presidential candidate and former El Paso Congressman Robert “Beto” O’Rourke commented, “Unbelievable”. O’Rourke had earlier laced into reporters in a profane tirade about the coverage of Trump.

Veteran leftist media figure Joan Walsh cancelled her subscription, “I canceled my subscription. I know a lot of folks will tell me I’m wrong. I will miss it. But I can’t keep rewarding such awful news judgment. “Trump Urges Unity Against Racism” is almost as bad as their full-page Comey letter coverage just before 2016 election. Nobody learns.”

New York Times print editor Tom Jolly posted the bulldog and second edition of the front page without comment on the changed headline.
“Tomorrow’s @nytimes tonight: @realDonaldTrump urges unity vs. racism and condemns “slaughters,” but says little about gun control; China employs currency in trade feud, jolting markets. #nytimes”
