White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders fired back at CNN President Jeff Zucker hours after Zucker all but blamed President Donald Trump for the mail bomb sent to CNN’s New York City bureau addressed to former Obama CIA Director John Brennan. Sanders accused Zucker of, “(choosing) to attack and divide,” after Trump made a plea for the nation to “come together”.

Zucker’s statement released by CNN Wednesday afternoon:
“There is a total and complete lack of understanding at the White House about the seriousness of their continued attacks on the media. The President, and especially the White House Press Secretary, should understand their words matter. Thus far, they have shown no comprehension of that.” Jeff Zucker, President CNN Worldwide”
Sanders posted in response Wednesday night, “.@realDonaldTrump asked Americans “to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the USA” Yet you chose to attack and divide. America should unite against all political violence.”
Sanders posted her statement in reply to Zucker’s statement posted to Twitter.

CNN posted a video clip of Trump speaking at a campaign rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, Wednesday night where he addressed the mail bomb wave targeting Democrats, Brennan and CNN. CNN criticized Trump in its caption of the clip, “President Trump said the media should set a “civil tone” following a series of bomb scares, taking no responsibility for the national political environment as he spoke at a rally in Wisconsin”
